The Jambette was made for entertainer/educator Robert Malo during the film production of Fire & Slice. Being focused on French Canadian history, he wanted a piece that was traded amongst the fur traders of yesteryear Canada. And so, horn was used to fashion the handle. The two scales were pressed into moulds to give it its distinct “doghead” shape. Shell thumb rest and flower pivots surrounding a brass pin that passes through the 52100 hand forged blade. Two blades were made but only one survived the full hardening process.
The blade is stamped with LAMOUR (Love), representing the maker Justin Lamoureux. The selfie photo is of Justin Lamoureux, Rachelle Lamoureux and Robert Malo. It was taken after capturing the final footage for Fire & Slice in Hadashville, Manitoba.
