Toronto Knife Show Rush
I was pissed off that I could not participate at The Toronto Knife show in 2025. I applied but could not get in. So when the 2026 applications were announced, I was quick to apply. But with all the returning vendors, it was unclear if I would get a spot.
Luckily, the people organizing the event had enough demand to expand the show space. Because of this, Rainy Day Forge will be at the show at table 60.
The plan, with the post-Christmas lull, was to make a variety of beautiful hand-crafted knives for the show. A smattering of Japanese-inspired culinary knives, classic Canadian bushcrafters and classy EDC knives would be laid out on my table, creating a solid representation of my abilities as a knifemaker.
That plan would have been great. Instead, I accepted 2 teaching positions at the local school and spent the last 3 months with 11 and 9-year-olds. And now, I have 1.5 weeks to prep for the show. Yikes! So what can you expect from RDF at the Toronto Knife Show, April 18th at the Four Points by Sheraton?
I’m using this opportunity to meet as many knife collectors and fans as possible. Although I’ll have a limited supply of knives, I’ll bring a few very pretty knives that will hopefully stop you in your tracks. You’ll also be able to book yourself a commission so that we can get you an RDF knife in your hands at a later time.
I’m also using this trip to visit some fellow bladesmiths. I’ll be staying with Steve Cornelson of Bad LLama Forge and spending a few days in his shop and visiting his favourite Toronto knife shops. Chris Dixon (Calgary, Black Cat Metal) will also be staying at Steve’s place. I’m also looking forward to meeting Brad Millman of Black Maple Blades. I think he’s a few hours away from Steve’s shop. As well as a bunch of the other knifemakers attending.
